I will admit, that I am someone who likes to keep track of what I am doing, and where I am improving (there is also a side of me that like to COMPETE).

Enter Strava (http://www.strava.com/) and Training Diaries (http://www.trainingdiaries.com/). Both enable you to track and view rides, both have similarities, but both are very different. I find myself using both, one because it allows me to compete and measure up, the other because it lets me create track and improve.

This will be an active blog, I will share my thoughts on the two as I rack up the miles, compete against others and work on my "training."

Received my demo pair of Time Titan IClic2 Pedals... what is a guy to do first?

Weigh them of course!

For those truly obsessed with shaving a little weight from their road machines... there is the super light road cassette Ceredure's.

Now available (by auction only because there is only one in existence....) you can have a 86gram diamond incrusted version of that very same cassette for your ride.

Time will tell how much this little "GEM" will go for at the London Bicycle Show.

Let the Rumors fly... currently the rumor points to the Athertons signing with GT for the 2012 race season. Could Dan, Gee and Rachel be riding the carbon fury to world cup domination?

Lets hope so, the GT brand and their bikes are killer right now and deserve an addition like this to the alrea

ok.. watch the video and them imagine this while mountain biking, launching gaps, dropping huge elevation, running dh runs.. wow. I WANT ONE NOW!!!

Using a 428×240 LCD micro display, it visually registers as a virtual 11″ monitor about five feet in front of you. They show real time elevation and speed, tracks your ascent and descent and even shows your jump data. This last bit could put to rest any arguing over who caught the most air, and it could show you where you’re falling short when practicing for those gaps and doubles before you have the neck brace to prove you came up short.

Both units build in GPS tracking, but the MOD Live links up via Bluetooth with your Android smartphone, tracks your buddies, provides navigation with preloaded trail maps, plays music from your phone’s playlist and connects to third party cameras as they’re developed.

This little beauty was on display at Interbike along with a white incarnation of the same stem.
The body of the stem is made using their exclusive RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) technique, white the 4bolt face plate use their CMT (Carbon Matrix Technology).

What this means to you...light weight and stiff with a beautiful finish inside and out. A masterpice of bicycle technology. However, bet on this beauty hitting the $500+ range.

I will say it here.. first person to or not, this is going to change the trail bike market... for ever.

18 lovely gears housed in a sealed gearbox, no cassette or derailleur at the rear end to effect unsprung weight in suspension travel. No more torn up derailleurs and no more hassles.

With minimal weight change through the use of the pinion gearbox trail riders and all mountain riders need to really take notice here. I myself would love to get my hands on a bike built around this concept (Nicolai has built one) in the near future and give her a rip. imagine coming around a corner at speed and seeing a huge climb and being able to dump al your gears to hit the climb with the right gear. No fussing over shifting two independent sides and waiting for a few pedal rotations to get there... it has already happened. Or you are coasting through super highspeed section of your favorite trails, it gets rough and you can not shift because you can not pedal... with the pinion you can easily change gears as your speed changes without pedaling instantly getting you ready for the pedaling section to come.. SAWEET!!!

The all mountain, or do everything bike is the buzz right now in the mountain bike world… or at least that is what I am reading between the lines with product launches and from what I get whilst talking to clients.  Not more than 5 years ago we (mountain bikers) were very happy and content with owning two or three different bikes. One to XC (Cross country) ride, one to knarl through the trails and one to DH (Downhill) when we got a chance. But it seems, and maybe because it is a by-product of the economic climate, that we are now hunting for the one bike to do it all… or come close to doing it all.

ENJOY.. and become obsessed with your internal desire to have, hold and ride this incredible bike!

The event was a huge success. Congrats to Mike Sampson for throwing together what was a truly remarkable day for al involved. All the vendors were in top fashion, everyone got a long great and despite the "misguided" skateboarders trying to over take the park it was a perfect day.

Those participating showed off the best of what they had, even a few daring attempts. The highlight for me was watching what looked like a 10 year old popping out of the bowl and throwing down 360's.

Below you will find the full results from the event and also a selection of the photos taken during the event. there are 300 photos available to view and download on the Ride the Earth Cycles Facebook Page. If you would like a high res version of a photo please download it and email it to me and I will get the high res version back to you. All I ask in return is that you "like" the RTEcycles facebook page.
